St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow has announced St Luke’s Hospice as its chosen charity of the year for 2024.
The charity, which provides specialist end of life and palliative care to people in Harrow and Brent free of charge, enables people within our community facing life-limiting illness the best possible quality of life.
St. George’s Shopping Centre has supported St Luke’s Hospice throughout the years, and wanted to make their support formal in 2024 to raise awareness of the important work the charity does within the community as well as help to raise funds through their centre events.
Throughout 2024, St. George’s Shopping Centre will be collecting for St Luke’s Hospice at its family-friendly events, starting with their Kids Club event ‘Fly Like a Butterfly’ on the 6th April 2024.
St. George’s Centre Manager said: “St Luke’s Hospice is a vital resource for people living in our community who are facing terminal illness. Community is at the heart of St. George’s, and we wanted to solidify our support for St Luke’s by raising funds for them during our well-loved family events.
“Historically, our events have been free, and whilst donations are not mandatory to still enjoy our events, we ask that if you are able to, please dig deep for St Luke’s Hospice and help us to support them in the good work that they do,” he concluded.
John Clifford, Corporate Partnerships Manager, St Luke’s Hospice said: “We are delighted to have been selected as St George’s Shopping Centre’s Charity of the Year. St George’s Shopping Centre has been one of our most long-standing supporters and we are looking forward to building a strong partnership that will help us continue to provide end of life care to our community.”
